Vocabulary

clumsy?

Hi all, I want to ask the right adjective for this situation.
If someone often forgets where they put the things, or often so mistakes in their work, or puts something not in the right place, what do you call this person? Can I say "clumsy"?

Thanks

Liya

Does "Scatterbrained, absentminded" show someone's personality just like "kind, caring" or just temporarily like "happy, sad"?

Is it common to say " I'm a absentminded person"?
And what does clumsy mean?

Thanks a lot

A clumsy person trips over things and bumps into things.

A scatterbrained person can't concentrate well and is erratic. An absentminded person forgets little things, like where he put his keys. They are both considered permanent conditions, though you can say that you're feeling that way today.

So, is it common to say "I'm a scatterbrained person" or "I'm an absentminded person"? Will I sound weird if I say that? Does it sound something serious?

Thanks.

The iconic image of an absent-minded person is the absent-minded professor.
These people can be very smart, but are preoccupied with serious subjects, and are careless about the mundane, trivial things in life. As people get older, they tend to get absent-minded.

A scatterbrained person is by nature disorganized. They cannot concentrate on any one thing for very long.

I see. So I think, in my case, I could just use careless, i guess? So just like general, small mistakes, not something serious.

Thanks

Being careless is a temporary condition, too. Everyone can be careless from time to time.
