clothed pronunciation

Hi teachers,

Is the 'ed' pronounced 't' or 'id'?

Thanks

It is a "d" in my dialect. In certain old poetry and hymns you might hear "id" for meter's sake.

Hi enoon,

With 'd' you mean a voiced one, is it right? I looked up and the British have 't' which now is confusing me. Does the 'th' in clothed a voiced one?

Thanks

Where did you find that? In BrE we pronounce the final sound in 'clothed' as /d/

Hi fivedejon, hi enoon,

Maybe I heard it wrong from howjsay. It sounds like a 't' at the end.

Thanks
