Closing of a letter

Could you please tell me if the closings below appropriate for a male teenage to use in America and other western countries while sending a thank-you-for-being-a-friend letter before New Year Day to a male friend, or a female friend?

Love from,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

Love,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

Hus and kisses,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

A kiss,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

A new year kiss,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

I miss you. Love,
John
(male friend/ female friend/ both)

I also want to know if it is okay for a male teenager to say "It's so sweet of you." when his male or female friend does something nice, such as buying him a souvenir after a tour, or reminding him to do something important.

"It (is/was) sweet of you to remind me.
"It (is/was) sweet of you to buy me the strawberries. Thank you.""
"Thank you. It is sweet of you."
Great Thanks in Advance

No male teenage boy would write ANY of those to another male teen friend. With someone who was just a female friend, don't use any of those except MAYBE "a new year's kiss" and even that would suggest that the you wish to be more than friends. Don't use the first one, at any time.

  • No male teenage boy would write ANY of those to another male teen friend.

  • Don't use the first one, at any time.
  • ) You could say "it was sweet of you" to a female friend, but I would recommend not saying it to a male friend.
  • If you have a romantic relationship with the person you're writing to, you can use any except the "Love from," one.

Don't use the first one, at any time. (Not to your parents, not to your girlfriend.)

How about the word "fabulous"? I feel like it is only used by a female.
