Close/closed(Mr.CJ)

Sir,

We can say "closed figure" closed as an adjective here.

Why can not we say "close figure" , as I know "close" is aslo an adjective.

Thanks.

This is MM, not CJ, but anyway: 'close' as an adjective means 'near', not 'unopened'. A 'closed figure' is, for example, a pentagon, I opine, in which the lines (sides) completely enclose the figure.
