Close up

It's surprising how faulty perception can be, as every introductory psychology student knows. We see a circle even though the curved line doesn't close up completely. We sse as movement a series of lights that come on sequentially.

Does 'the curved line doesn't close up completely' mean both ends of the curved lines do not meet?
