Close to shopping or shopping establishments?

Hi.Please help. I wasn't sure the questions deal more with the vocabulary than grammar, but I decided to post in this grammar forum section since I felt they lean more toward grammar. Are the underlined parts correct? I think the words "shopping" and "dining" mean the act of shopping or dining/eating. Would it be better to write something like "LA's finest shopping, dining establishments and entertainment centers" and "shopping centers, restaurants and entertainment centers on XXX Blvd."?

His place is in minutes of LA's finest shopping, dining and entertainment.
Her place is in within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and entertainment on XXX Blvd.

These are fine; you don't need centers, establishments, etc: His place is within minutes of LA's finest shopping, dining and entertainment. Her place is in within walking distance of shopping, restaurants and entertainment on *** Blvd.
