Hi! When I had just started school we had desks with a kind of a flat box inside, to put our books and things in. You could flip open the whole top of the desk and in that way get access to the box.
New words, one handy idiom, and a 2-minute quiz — delivered to your inbox to keep your streak alive.
I think these might be instructions given by a teacher to his/her pupils - but some years ago.
"Open your desks and take your English book page ***". The books were stored inside the desk, nad the kids used to write on the top/lid of their desk.
Teo1. Close the desk."Lid" seems redundant. It seems enough to say "open/close the desk".
2. Close the lid of your desk.
Do sentences # 1 and # 2 have the same meaning?
What does the lid of a desk refer to?
Thanks a lot for your reply.
