close and aide set eyes

Is it correct to say this? Which are natural?

I have wide/close set eyes.
My eyes are (set) close together.
My eyes are (set) far apart.

Thank you

The latter two sound better to my ears, with or without the word "set". So: My eyes are (set) close together My eyes are (set) far apart. It is also acceptable to say that you have "close-set" or "closely-set" eyes, but I've never heard the expression "wide-set" eyes.

  • My feeling is that it would be an uncommon thing to say or write, but your meaning would be understood and, as far as I know, it's not incorrect.
  • It's just not a phrase that is commonly used.
