Clip a turn

Hi,

Would it mean anything if I said that ‘a car clipped a turn’?

I came across a similar sentence in a book, but I’m not sure if I understand what the author was trying to say.

Does ‘clip’ in this scenario mean drive too close the middle line to save time going across the wider part?

Thank you.
