Clingy person

Hi,

I´ve found this word: "clingy" to decribe a person does it work?

"He was too much clingy, therefore I decided to end our relationship" does it work?

Thanks

You can use "too" before an adjective, but not "too much". You can use "much too".

He was too clingy. / He was much too clingy.

To my ear, "therefore" sounds like something from a book on philosophy or science. I would substitute "so".

You never use the word cling, or clingy, or clinger to describe a person. This word has very negative connotations and is extremely offensive when used to describe someone. I would go so far as to say that it is one of the most offensive words in the English language when used this way.

I would not go that far. It just means someone who is very dependent on someone else.

Many two-year old children cling to their mothers when strangers are around, so they can be innocently described as "clingy."
