Climbing equipment ... La Ciudad de los Niños

Hi everyone,

In the following texts, I can't understand the sentence marked in red at all.
How should I understand the part "historic buildings morph into brightly coloured climbing equipment"?
If you have any imaginative interpretation, would you explain it a little bit here?
It will be a big help for me.
Thanks a lot~!

<Cordoba for Children>
When you and the kids just don’t want to look at old stones a moment longer, it’s time to head a little way out of town and leave the past behind. Just southwest of the city centre and adjoining the city Zoo and Wildlife Centre, historic buildings morph into brightly coloured climbing equipment. Welcome to La Ciudad de los Niños, Córdoba’s City for Kids. A calendar of special events aimed at 4 to 12 year olds runs throughout the summer – check its website for details, or ask at the regional tourist office. Buses 2 and 5 (heading to Hospital Reina Sofia) from the city centre stop here.

"Morph" means to change shape. This sentence doesn't mean that the historical buildings have magically changed their shape into children's play equipment, but that, as you drive along, that is what seems to happen, since one is right next to the other.
