I want to know:

What is the difference between these:

1. I saw the man climb the tree.

2. I saw the man climbing the tree.

In Sentence 1 you saw the whole process of climbing, from beginning to end. e. when you noticed him he was already climbing the tree, you didn't see the beginning of the action.

In Sentence 1 you saw the whole process of climbing, from beginning to end.

In Sentence 2 you saw the man in the middle of the action, i.e. when you noticed him he was already climbing the tree, you didn't see the beginning of the action.
