Hi
There's a tv show called "Hollow". In the first episode, three strangers wake up in an empty room with only a typewriter and try to escape. At first, they think of doing something with the typewriter. One of them just types one letter and then a cinder block comes out. Hereupon, they start thinking about the right word which takes them out of there. They finally figure out the right word that is "help". Cinder blocks comes out one by one as they type up each letter. So that they climb up the wall and reach the vent. But they see the grate is screwed in. While thinking what to do, one of them says that sentence:
-"We climb back down to the typewriter, bend one of those key thingies into a screwdriver and righty-tighty, lefty-loosey? Oh, maybe we can somehow freeze the screws and snap them off."
I have two questions about that "We climb back down to the typewriter, bend one of those key thingies into a screwdriver and righty-tighty, lefty-loosey?" sentence.
1.Should I get the meaning of "climb back down to the typewriter" as "go down to take the typewriter" or is there another meaning intended of this?
2. I don't understand when the character says "bend one of those key thingies into a screwdriver and righty-tighty, lefty-loosey?". My question is only about that "bend one of those key thingies into a screwdriver" part. I know what "righty-tighty, lefty-loosey" means.
I need a clear explanation of the whole sentence.
Thanks in advance
(By the way I am not a native speaker and hope I expressed what I indeed mean well)
Should I get the meaning of "climb back down to the typewriter" as "go down to take the typewriter" or is there another meaning intended of this? They climbed up to the grate, so they would have to climb back down the where the typewriter was. Mina Uzun 2.
