Climate vs Climatic

I am wondering, how and when I should use adjective climate or climatic. Examples: climat* change, climat* factors, climatic cause..

Thank you very much for your swift answer, I was trying to translate one scientific paper into English and there was an expression meaning "climatic factors". It is actually very tough for me to say, it there is a possibility of noun-noun phrase (climate factor) in this case...
