climate change

Climate change is on top of the agenda of UN these days. It's a really difficult issue to tackle because of lack of support from participating countries, especially those who contribute a significant percentage of carbon dioxide into the air such as China, India and the US.

Are there any mistakes?

...because of [a] or [the] lack of support ...

I think participating countries is not a great choice - if they are participating, they are part of the discussion. Maybe from "some of the countries that contribute a significant..."
