Clearance

Hi,there

Dimensions and quantities have been converted to metric values with US units in parentheses wherever possible.

Soft conversion rules apply to manufactured products and proprietary clearances, and hard conversions apply to general planning guidelines rounded to the nearest 5mm.

I have no idea what proprietary clearances is.

Would you please help me with it?

Thank you!

I'm unfamiliar with the usage. Clearances in the context of a manufactured product could be the fit tolerances, if we're talking about precision machining. But rounding to the nearest 5mm doesn't give you much precision.

  • If it's in the context of trade, I suppose "clearances" could be something like "clearing through customs.
  • The term "proprietary" has to do with ownership, as in patent issues.
