"Clear glasses"

I would like to confirm something.

The eyeglasses that has no prescription on it (or them?). Do we call them "clear glasses"?

Thanks.

"Clear glasses" and "eyeglasses" are wordy and unnecessary. The word glasses, is enough.

Sorry I don't get it. Can we use "clear glasses" to describe glasses without prescription (not used to correct nearsightedness or farsightedness)?

Thanks.

It's possible to buy reading glasses without a prescription. If you are talking about glasses with just plain glass in them, I don't think we have a word for them. What would be the point of them?

I see. Thanks for the reply.

Glasses with non-corrective lenses are called "clear lens glasses" or "no-" or "non-prescription glasses." This is apparently a thing because some celebrities wear them. People buy them because they like the look, because they've had corrective surgery and no longer need glasses but are uncomfortable without them, or because they need physical protection or protection from UV light.

Or they could be used by actors playing characters who wear glasses.

Or by girls who don't want passes. (If you remember the old saying!)
