Clauses



I think i am doing these right but if you see something i am doing wrong will you please help me understand.

Independent and Subordinate Clauses. Underline the independent clause once. And the Bold the subordinate. Describe the subordinate clause by writing ADJ for adjective clause or ADV for adverb clause on the line before each sentence.

1. ADJ The paintings we saw at the museum were beautiful.

2. ADJ Before Maria went to college, she traveled for a year.

3. ADV Employees who work the night shift at the plant receive extra pay.

4. ADV Maira found her missing keys when she was searching for her briefcase.

5. ADV The landlord remodeled our apartment after we signed the new lease.

6. ADJ Edgar Allan Poe was a famous poet who wrote poems and short stories.

7. ADJ The dresser we saw at the garage sale was a valuable antique.

8. ADV Carlos volunteered at the community center because he liked helping children.

9. ADJ We stopped delivery of the news paper and mail since we were going away for a trip.
