Clause to be put in a contract form: I also understand that...

Hi

Is the wording of this sentence fit to be put as a clause in a contract? Any suggestions are welcome.

I also understand that should I decide to discontinue my services before the one-month contract is over, I will be liable to forgo my salary for whatever number of days I worked for in the company.

Thanks,

Tom

I suggest this. I also understand that should I decide to discontinue my services before the one-month contract is over, I will have to forgo my salary for whatever number of days I worked at the company. Here in Canada, you have to be careful about using the word 'salary' for contract work.
