Sir,

1. I am afraid I can not go to Japan.

Here two complete sentences are put in one sentence without any conjuction. How is it possible.

Please explain me.
One more---
He told me he was playing.

The word "that" which joins the two parts may be omitted.

You can say "I am afraid that I cannot go to Japan" or "I am afraid I cannot go to Japan".
You can say "He told me that he was playing" or "He told me he was playing".
