Is classify an appropriate term in the following context?
"They voluntarily chose the nap type: 11 nurses slept 00–03 AM, 8 nurses slept 03–06 AM and 4 nurses could not sleep due to high work volume and emergency patients. Thus, they were classified into a nap group of less than 30 minutes."

You can use either "classify" or "assign"
They were assigned the nap group "Less than 30 minutes."
