Class vs the class

I am going to make up two simple sentences.

(1) Class will resume in two months.

(2) The class will resume in two months.

(A) Does the addition of the definite article in (2) change the meaning of (1) without it?

(B) Is it grammatically wrong to use the definite article?

Please answer my questions. Thanks a lot.
