Class decoration

Could anybody correct these three sentences for me?

(1) There is a class decoration competition in our school today.
(2)Our school is very _____(many people and many noises )today, because there are many visitors in our school like parents, jounalists, alumna(boys and girls), judges, and so on.

(3) I feel very glad for it.

Isn't that glad can be used to refer to an emotion that has a specific couse.

Glad does not seem natural to me here. Gladness is an ongoing feeling: I am glad to be alive. Happiness is more ephemeral: I am happy today.
