Class attendance

Class attendance is a debated topic in education these days. Many people say that students should be forced to attend all lessons while others believe that going to classes should be optional. In my opinion, class attendance should be required but some lessons are optional.

On the one hand, there are a lot of benefits of joining classes. First of all, students can speak directly with their professors or teachers. Their teachers can give them wise knowledge in the lessons and their life. The teachers can help them understand subjects more deeply. Furthermore, face–to–face interaction with teachers makes them learn better.

Secondly, students can improve their social skills when they work with classmates on their team essays and group projects. They have to learn how to efficiently communicate and how to devise the tasks equally and suitably with the capability of each team – member.

On the other hand, I think some lessons should be optional for students. Firstly, anyone has strengths and weaknesses, someone can feel uncomfortable with subjects, so they can’t focus on this knowledge. It is really difficult for to students learn all subjects well. Furthermore, if they can choose the subjects they are interested in, they will have much motivation to learn them.

Secondly, if students could be allowed absent in lessons they are not keen on, they can use this time to do many things. They can help their parents do household chores to reduce the parent’s family burden. They also join sports classes like basketball club, swimming club or soft skill classes like telling stories course, sale and purchasing course…They have more chances to handle time in their life to do significant things. In addition, students can take a part-time jobs. They not only can earn money to pay the necessary expense but also make a good preparation for their future career.

In conclusion, attending classes play an important condition in the learning process. If they take part in full obligatory lessons, they have enough knowledge to work with their majors. Besides, some lessons should be optional for students so they can choose the suitable method to gain knowledge and experience.
