clasp and link

Is this what you would say to someone helping to put your bracelet on?
Would you say: 'in a closer link'?

Put the clasp in a closer link otherwise the bracelet is to big.

Thanks

I'm trying to say: closer so that the bracelet is tighter. If you don't specify 2nd or 3rd link how would you say that you want it tighter.

Can you say "I want the bracelet tighter" or "Can you make it tighter?"

Is this question phrased correctly? - If you don't specify 2nd or 3rd link how would you say that you want it tighter.

Thank you
