Clarification needed for the predicate used in this sentence

Hi,

I found the following sentence in my grammar text book:

In him India lost a true patriot.

I tried to identify the subject and the parts of predicate in the sentence. To me it looks like this:
Subject: India
Predicate: verb -> lost ; object -> a true patriot in him.

My text book tells that:
Predicate: verb -> lost ; object -> a true patriot ; adverbial qualification -> in him

Is 'in him' indicating adverb of place?

Thanks,
Richards.
