Clap you bast**d

"Clap you basta*d"

I found this words on the electric sign which gives instruction to the audience at a talk show.

Does that mean "Clap your hand, you bast*rd"?

Another quetion, I have difficulty in prepositions usage. Am I using "a" and "the" correctly in the sentence above?

Thanks,

Ryo
