clad vs clothed

0Is the past tense of clothe clad or clothed? The dictionary says clad but I've seen clothed several times, actually I've seen both but never knew the meaning of clad was clothe until today.02br

0 Strictly speaking "clad" doesn't mean just clothed. 02br 02br 00As far as I know the only time "clad" is used to mean "clothed" (at least in current usage) is when the speaker intends to convey mild opprobrium or disapproval. Thus the term "scantly clad woman".
