Claasroom Language

Hello!
I have a question regarding classroom language. Is it correct to say "if you answer without raising your hand/ keep talking in class I'll minus you 2 points from your credit? Or maybe take out points from your participation grades? -participation in class is graded.
And what's the opposite? If you answer right, I'll give 2 points extra credit?
Thank you!

I assume you have already explained to your students the overall system of points and participation grades. If so, I'd just say eg If you answer without raising your hand, or if you keep talking in class, it will cost you two points.. eg If your answer is right, I'll give you two points.

"Minus" cannot be used as a verb, you can say;

You will lose two points if . . .
I will deduct/take off two points if . . .
As an informal alternative "knock off" can also be used.

If you raise your hand and answer correctly, you get two points.

If you raise your hand and answer incorrectly, you get zero points.

If you answer without raising your hand, you get two points deducted from your classroom participation score.

If you talk in class, you get two points deducted from your classroom participation score.
