Vocabulary

Circulate / Rotate

Hi,

As some of you know, I'm still busy translating a website for someone from Dutch to English and I came across another word: circulate.

In Dutch, we use the word 'rouleren', but I don't think any of you would understand that ;-) The idea is that when you load a website, something has be different each time you load it.

For example: you enter 5 of your favorite quotes, and each time someone loads your website, it'll show a different quote. This has something to do with 'circulating' there quotes. My problem is: what word is proper in this situation?

The sentence I translated is: "do not circulate these tips (recommondations)"
People can decide wether they want certain recommended websites to 'circulate' or not...

Regards,

Vince..

Hi Vince, I think 'rotate' is better than 'circulate'. However, it does suggest that things move in a regular cycle rather than randomly. I'm not sure if that's the meaning you want to convey.
