I was chuffed when my book edition was published in France.

Please correct my sentencc. (particularly, please check whether the word `chuffed' and `edition' is appropriate here)

Americans will definitely not understand the word "chuffed". After looking up "chuffed" in a dictionary, I see that it is an informal British word meaning 'delighted'. I would suggest this as a correct and more widely understandable alternative: I was delighted when a French edition of my book was published.
