Choosing the right tense

Hello, could you please help me to put the verbs in brackets in the correct past tense?

His wife (cheat on) him for over 5 months and he did not know about it.
I (write) this letter for an hour.
I (use) this car for three years.

I would choose past progressive in all the sentences.

His wife was cheating on him for over 5 months and he did not know about it.
I was writing this letter for an hour.
I was using the same car for 3 years.

Is it corret?
