Choosing tenses

Hi,
which tense is correct, please?

Rumor has it that Facebook will be shutting down on 15th March 2011.
Rumor has it that Facebook is shutting down on 15th March 2011.

Where have you parked your car? In the garage. ( I think this is a BrE issue )
Where did you park your car? In the garage. ( this is an AmE issue )

I have broken up with John because he ignored me.
I have broken up with John because he was ignoring me.
Not really sure about these two.

Our holidays were perfect. Most of the time we swam in the sea and played sports.
Our holidays were perfect. Most of the time we were swimming in the sea and playing sports.
I would choose the second option, but I think the first one is acceptable as well.

The player will not be playing in the next match, because he has been/was injured.
The player will not play in the next match, because ...
The player is not going to play in the next match, because ...
I think all three are correct. Should I use "has been" or "was"?
