Instead of saying "choose one for me",
"Choose me one" would be natural?

I think that we do sometimes say that. I may go into a pub and ask about the beer. They have a good selection but I say 'you choose me one'

The guy behind the bar may be thinking 'Am I talking to a medieval knight?' or he may just know that I trust his judgement
