My answer is the present simple for both as they are scheduled actions, am I right?

2. It has to be "will be playing." "The basketball team" is singular. So, "play" and "are playing," future verb forms, cannot be used.

A plural verb is very common with nouns such as team in British English: The basket ball team are playing two games next week.

Thanks but why 'are playing' ? It's written in my textbook that we use present simple with scheduled actions such as matches, TV programs, etc
