We can say that a sentence about him is correct or incorrect, right or wrong, but unless we are personally involved with the people we are talking about, we can't say that what is said about them is t

If you check Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English, y.ou will find that effect and influence are used in the same way. e.g. regarding effect, My parents' divorce had a big effect on me. As for influence, His work has had an influence on many modern writers. These two sentences are taken from the dictionary.

Yes, I know. I'm saying that you are using the word "true" incorrectly. In English we don't say "true" when we mean that a sentence (or a choice, or two choices) is correct. true and correct are used differently.

As already mentioned above, "have a good effect" is more appropriate than "have a good influence". They are both correct, but "have a good influence" is hardly ever used, so the best answer is "have a good effect".
