Would you use this format in telling people to sing? No.
I'd say
eg Mike, please sing bass. And John, soprano.

But if those are their natural voices, I'd just say
eg Mike and John, please sing

As AS said, soprano is normally used for the highest female singing voice.

The highest adult male voice is counter-tenor, though in typical choirs, only tenors are found.

If John is a boy with an unbroken voice, he would be referred to as a treble.
