Grammar

choice of pronoun

When referring to a certain party in a business CONTRACT, would you use "they" or "it" instead of Party X when a pronoun seems necessary?

Thanks!

If Party X is a person and you know the *** of Party X, use the appropriate pronoun. If Party X is a collective entity, such as a corporation or a trust, take your pick. It shouldn't matter because every well-written contract will have a paragraph named "Construction," which will state that as appropriate the singular pronouns may be construed as plural (and vice versa) and that pronoun of one gender may be construed as another.
