Choice of preposition

Hi.

Which preposition is more common and better?Are both correct?

Although either is correct, "for" is much more commonly used. I don't know that one is really better than the other, because either would be easily understood. -S

They're both correct.

To my ear, with suggests a vacuous remark of a very general nature.

for suggests a reference to a specific situation the listener has previously mentioned. With for, I hear a little voice in my head adding "with respect to X", where X might be "
