Choice of a preposition

I remember seeing a grammar rule somewhere that "in" is the only choice in negative present perfect sentences such as "I haven't danced in four years." It is correct? Are there any other choices in the above example? Thank you very much.

I am not aware of that rule, Guest (not to say it doesn't exist!). However, 'for' would work in your example:

I haven't danced in four years.
I haven't danced for four years.

also:

I haven't danced since four years ago.
