Chinese whispers

One of the questions on a certain TEFL course is 'what situation would it be inappropriate to play chinese whispers?', yes indeed???? If you're teaching deaf students??? Is whispering a taboo somewhere?.. IS it as silly as it sounds?

The name "Chinese whispers" reflects the former stereotype in Europe of the Chinese language as being incomprehensible. It is little-used in the United States (where it is called 'Telephone') and may be considered offensive.
