Chinese teaching

The following self-introduction originally written by a student has been revised by me. Please give me corrections. Thanks a lot!

Self-Introduction
Hi, everyone! I am Eric. I am a Pisces. I am a 15-year-old boy of medium height. I am a confident, aggressive person who is competitive with everything. I like adventure, new situation and social events. I am quite popular in my social circles because I’m always in a helpful mood. In addition, I’m expressive and I will not hesitate to express my feelings to the people around me. I expect others to be open to me as I am.

I have the same-looking face as someone because I have a twin brother, who looks like me but differs in temperament. Because we have identical faces to each other, many classmates and teachers always mistake me for my twin brother. We are in different class and that causes some jokes or something funny to happen. For example, one day, a teacher asked my twin brother, Jack to do something that was assigned me to do. Jack was puzzled at first. After a while he sensed that the teacher mistook him for me, so he said to the teacher, ”Excuse me, Sir. I’m afraid that you mistake me for Eric. Please look carefully. I’m Jack, not Eric.” Upon hearing that, the teacher promptly corrected himself and said, “Sorry, I make a mistake.” Things like this are heard on rare occasions.

Let me talk about my hobby. For one thing, I love cooking. Cooking makes me happy because it can bring a whole family together. I usually cook dinner at home for my family every weekday after school. Cooking, for me, is how I show loving care to my family and friends. I cook because I care about what I eat and want to nourish my body with healthful foods. Cooking allows me to express my creativity and enjoy the pleasure food gives.

For another thing, I enjoy singing. I often amuse myself by singing. When I take a shower at home, I would like to sing joyfully in a loud voice which remains resonant in my whole house. My favorite singer is JJ Lin, who is a talented Singaporean singer, songwriter, record producer and actor based in Taiwan. I’m attracted by his handsome appearance and enchanting charm. I love his songs such as Remember, Let Go, What's Wrong With You, and Heart of Superman. His songs and performances are meaningful and comforting, giving vent to my feelings, having charms to soothe my soul, and voicing the aspirations of young people.

With regard to my career plan is to go abroad to teach Chinese. With the growing international status of China, there are more and more learners of Chinese around the world. Especially in the recent decade, Chinese teaching has been on a rapid rise in many countries and regions. Teaching Chinese abroad will do a lot of help to enhance the world’s understanding of Chinese language, history and culture. It is helpful to promote the exchange and friendship among China and other countries.
