Children, behave yourself in the theatre.

Hello.

I found this sentence in my program to learn English:

Children, behave yourself in the theatre.

And it looks suspicious to me... Is 'yourself' justified somehow or there should be 'yourselves' (as the word 'children' is of course plural)?

Thanks GPY.

This program has such a wide and diverse selection of sentences (with pronunciation) which makes it really great, so it is such a pity that some of them have errors

GPY is of course right on the grammar point, but I don't find it egregiously wrong; it is certainly common enough in real conversation: the teacher is addressing herself to each child, so it is stronger in the singular.

This is the kind of knowledge that I definitely lack as a non-native English speaker (as usually it is not included in grammar books), so thanks for this comment, Mister Micawber. It is really valuable knowledge and point of view for me.
