i could still remember even now , in my childhood days i used to think about height  of skies and dream at reaching it by using very large ladder.

I still remember an incident when I was around 3 years old when I lived in Upper Marlboro, MD back in the mid 1970's. My father took me to a local laundry mat. It was nighttime then and while there, I started walking around the place and somehow lost track of where my father was after maybe a few minutes. So I started walking outside the laundry mat on a sidewalk. I started walking home because in my mind, I knew precisely where I needed to walk to reach home in Upper Marlboro, MD. I remember seeing two African American men walking toward me on the sidewalk. They probably looked at me wondering what a 3 year old is doing walking by himself, but nothing happened. I soon found my way on Marlboro Pike Road and soon after that, an African American woman in her vehicle stopped and asked if I needed a lift. I said no and continued walking. I was told early never to talk with strangers. So I didn't.

Soon I found myself on Pennsylvania Avenue and started walking on the shoulder. This last for maybe 30-45 minutes before a state police officer pulled over and picked me up. I remember that a police officer is someone who can help me. So I accepted the ride to the police station. While in the police car, I remember over hearing on his CB "Camel, Camel", probable a police code. I don't know what it meant though. Soon, I arrived at the police station where I passed some small prison cells as I arrived at some holding area, maybe a kitchen where police officers ate on their break. I don't know exactly. That is where my father found me and drove me the rest of the way home.

This powerful memory of my walk at 3 years old by myself is why I love to walk a lot today. Like I said earlier in another post, over a 15 day period this month, I walked 213.82 miles, which averages 14.25 miles per day. Walking has been my passion for over 43 years and it continues.
