I've been thinking a lot about a lot of things, and one thing I kind of regret is telling you what happened between me and mom during my childhood.

Or

what happened during my childhood between me and mom.

Which is correct?

Unless the person is speaking to a sibling -- then "between me and Mom" is okay.
