Hi I'm teaching english in China, to 14-18 year olds whom have a good command of the english langauge, however some of the class are shyer than others, how do I get the shy ones to come out of their shell without seemingly picking on them?

If you can, try to organise group class activities, and get them to interact with each other.. Try pairing the shy ones together, encourage them as a whole; Then try mixing them with the other, less shy students..
