(chess) advantageous

Hi.

He said:

"Having fewer pawn islands than the opponent is advantageous."

Why did he not use 'useful' or 'helpful' instead of 'advantageous'?

Thanks in advance

Advantageous is a stronger thought than just useful or helpful. Having fewer **** islands will put you at an advantage to your opponent, making it easier for you to win. To say something is useful or helpful is more along the lines of small accumulative steps that make your game less strenuous.
