Chemistry was wrong

Hi

Is the use of the underlined phrase natural?

A - What went wrong between them?
B - Nothing -- I think the chemistry was wrong. They could never understand each other.

Thanks,

Tom

Yes.

(I suppose you could say that the first answer, "Nothing", isn't totally substantiated by what follows, though this is not directly relevant to your question.)

Either that or "There was no chemistry between them" or maybe "The chemistry between them wasn't right".

Yes. Roughly, "chemistry" = "attraction" in this context.
