Cheese for vegetarians

From the Times, or maybe it was the Journal:
Certain cheeses can be coagulated by lactic acid bacteria rather than rennet. They include cream cheese, cottage cheese, ricotta and some mozzarella, but check the label or ask the maker to find out if rennet is added.

[nq:1]Do they really think of bee **** as an animal byproduct? Bees are vegetarian, aren't they? I mean, the ones that make honey are vegetarian. I expect sweat bees and the like may indulge in a hit of carrion now and then.[/nq]
Honey is bee vomit, not bee ****. Bees, I know about.

I had to write "vomit" there; I wanted to say "bee sick" but I seem to recall that "sick" is not a noun
