"Post' is an accounting-oriented term. It means that the check is recorded in your account and the amount is taken from your account. I'd say it is mainly used internally by a company in its accounting, not with, for example, a bank's outside customers in the general public.

Generally speaking, I don't think banks care about when a cheque is posted to your account. This sentence sounds to me like it relates to paying a bill.

eg your check for this bill must arrive by November 30, otherwise ...... we will send two guys around to break your legs.
